You see, there was me standing by the hollow gums, the rain belting against my shoulders tearing the river from its bed. There was he, he stood awhile, talk was high he smiled 'may I hold your hand?' I smiled he fetched a stone, out of his pocket & pelted it over the stilled water he turned to the freshly damped gums, then to me He turned to me 'You're lovely, but Please Don't come home.' He dropped my hand I stay standing in the rain.
